Vicarious trauma is a risk to those who work in all helping professions. At this event we will explore what vicarious trauma is, what it isn't and how this interacts with compassion fatigue and burnout. We identify risk factors and seek to develop strategies to combat this. In a group of 6 or less.

These are the statements of health care professionals, and first responders who are not describing their own traumatic experiences but their experiences of helping others, and in particular during the Covid-19 pandemic. At this event we discover what vicarious trauma is, what it isn’t and how it fits with compassion fatigue and burnout. We identify who is at risk and seek to develop strategies to combat it.
